We bought both a framed backpack as well as an Ergo Baby carrier. I'll preface this by saying that I have lower back issues so I've liked the Ergo a LOT better since it was a LOT easier on my back. However, here are the pros and cons of both from my experiences with them.

It fits my six month old perfectly. I had been using the baby bjorn since he was an infant but I started having back and neck pains. With his increase in weight I needed to find a better carrier. I love the Ergo baby.

Just be very very careful if you are looking at used or discounted new ERGOs. Most of them are counterfeit, of superior quality and potential safety hazards!

This is a great carrier, I wish I had it when my son was younger. He is now 10 months and over 20lbs, and I am pretty short so I can't use any carrier for too long but this one is great.
